Albona Ristorante Istriano

Not only can Albona boast the right of being the first AND only Istrian restaurant on the West Coast, but it is also deemed as one of the “The Best Ethnic Restaurants in the Bay Area” and has been included in the S.F. Chronicle’s “The Bay Area’s Top 100 Restaurants” for eight consecutive years.

This restaurant gets its name from Albona, Istria, a town that overlooks the Adriatic Sea.

We also had a filled fresh pasta roll that was baked in the oven (no picture, sahwee).

The servers were all very warm and welcoming towards us. They even gave us complimentary champagne since it was my boyfriend’s birthday!

.. I finally got around to publishing this long overdue post because being here in Korea has been making me really miss this kind of food.. if anyone can deliver Albona’s food to me (*cough-especially the adriatic stew-cough), I’ll thank you forever!!
