Looking for a good place to get ramen?

Go to Himawari! The service is nice and the prices are very reasonable. Their ramen menu is big so you’re bound to find something you’ll like! Once you find a ramen you like, you choose your soup flavor: soy, salt, or miso. The regular toppings are sliced roasted pork, bamboo stems, and green onion, but you can add more toppings for an additional price.

Not a fan of ramen? Himawari also offers a bunch of cooked appetizers, salads, fried rice, rice bowls, and sushi rolls! The place is small though and it is quite popular, so be prepared to wait!

Amami Sushi

I present to you…
One of the best places you can get sushi in the peninsula!
(The following pictures are compiled from a few different visits)

Spanish Toro

On this day, we arrived so late that they ran out of fish to serve omakase. Nonetheless, we had a very good experience with the fish they had left. (more…)

Chez Maman

I absolutely LOVED this place.
So much that I daydream about coming here again.
Whyyy am I so crazy about this place, you ask?

French Onion Soup

French Onion Soup

Simply because of their French onion soup and pork chop.

Patbingsoo is a popular dessert eaten in Korea during the summer. Although the weather’s cold now since fall is here, I love to have it anytime I want something refreshing throughout the year!

Red Bean Shaved Ice

Red Bean Shaved Ice

What started off as simply shaved ice and sweetened azuki beans (‘pat’), the dessert has evolved into a fancy dish that now includes various toppings such as:

  • ice cream
  • condensed milk
  • fresh fruit
  • nuts
  • cereal
  • rice cake

It’s like a luxurious snowcone, but in a bowl (which makes it even better because there’s no need to worry about anything melting and dripping anywhere)!

What food comes to your mind when you think about the Tenderloin?
Thai? Southern? Vietnamese?
Probably not Japanese right?

Surprisingly, there actually is a good Japanese place in the Tenderloin! Say hello to Sanraku~ (more…)
