Cream Pan

IMG_1889

Located in Tustin, Cream Pan is a Japanese bakery that offers a wide range of small eats, from savory things such as futomaki and steamed buns to pastries like croissants. Their most popular item is the strawberry croissant! There is an ample amount of custard and it’s just sweet enough to complement the fresh strawberries. The croissants remain flaky even if you leave them sitting on the counter for a majority of the day. They’re worth venturing out to get if you’re not in the area!

Sno-Zen Shaved Snow

You all know Anna and Elsa from the movie Frozen right?
If Anna were cotton candy, Elsa would be Sno-Zen’s shaved snow.

Their snow is literally what the cold version of cotton candy would be like because it’s so light and fluffy!

Boba Time

My favorite boba place in SoCal!

Sweet Potato Smoothie

Sweet Potato Smoothie

And no, I am not biased towards this place just because they have sweet potato smoothie. Their sweet potato smoothie actually tastes just like the ones I make at home hehe ^__^

I like how big their menu is and that they provide pictures of almost everything on their website. Not only can you order drinks such as milk tea, iced tea, coffee, and smoothies, but you can also get frozen yogurt, shaved ice, and shaved snow! I have yet to try their desserts, but one thing I can tell you for sure is that their drinks are consistently good. I guarantee you’ll find something you’ll like here!

The Ice Bar

HAPPY NEW YEAR’S EVE!! Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas (or Hanukkah or Kwanzaa) 🙂
And that you’ve been treating yourself to gooood food this holiday season hehe.

If you’re in SoCal and want something to balance out what may have been a good but heavy meal, the Ice Bar could be an option to go to for a light dessert! Here, the popsicles are treated literally like masterpieces: the gel is carefully squeezed to make neat squiggles, while bulky toppings such as blueberries are artfully set down. Itty bitty toppings like herbs are meticulously placed with a tweezer!

Milk

Macaron ice cream sandwiches sound good and all, but this place is wayyy over-hyped. I was pretty disappointed in this place, especially since they’ve received a lot of attention in the press.

Left: Red Velvet
Right: Thai Tea

Yes, the sandwiches are pretty and picture-perfect for Instagram, and yes, they are made in a way that make them easy to eat (no mess!). BUT you’ll feel a toothache and/or headache coming on the moment you bite into it – not because of how cold it is, but because of how sweet it is! Even my friends who can tolerate much sweeter things than I can agreed. If you have a super strong sweet tooth, then you’ll like this place for sure!!

Apparently their blue velvet cake and ooey-gooey chocolate chip cookies are good too though, so I’ll probably give those a try if I find myself here again. Looks like we’ll have to wait and see if Milk can redeem itself in my book!
