As October comes to an end, fall season has finally arrived in SB – with the morning air beginning to feel crispy, the skies getting gloomy, and the nights becoming too chilly to go out without a jacket. With fall season comes warm layers, comfy sweatpants, more Netflix in bed, and the oh-so-famous pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks (how can we forget?!).
Personally, their pumpkin spice latte tastes too artificial and sweet for me. You know what I’d rather have?
A cup of nutella hot chocolate.
1 – 2 tbsp. Nutella (depending on your sweet tooth)
1 cup milk
1. Pour milk in a saucepan over medium heat.
2. Once the milk starts steaming, add Nutella to saucepan and raise heat to medium high. Whisk until hot, smooth, and frothy.
3. Carefully pour into mug and enjoy.
*Optional: Serve with cinnamon, marshmallows, whipped cream, etc!
GO ONE STEP FURTHER… and make this a hazelnut cafe au lait.
How: Mix equal parts Nutella hot chocolate and strongly brewed coffee.
*A cafe au lait is made up of brewed coffee and steamed milk, whereas a latte is espresso, milk, and foam.
Although I like my coffee black, I do a 2:1 ratio of coffee to Nutella hot chocolate for a subtle sweetness every once in a while hehe.
