Kimchi Fried Rice

To be honest, I never follow recipes to the T except when baking. I like to use them as guidelines instead and adjust everything to my own taste as I cook. But here’s a recipe for kimchi fried rice! The measurements are rough, so feel free to do your own thing with the ingredients 🙂

3 cups (cooked) rice
1 chopped onion
1 cup chopped kimchi
1/3 cup kimchi juice
4 tbs. gochujang (Korean pepper paste)
4 tsp. sesame oil
1 tsp. vegetable oil
salt and pepper

1. Heat up a pan and add the vegetable oil to stir fry the onion.
2. Once the onion turns clear, add the rice, kimchi, kimchi juice, and gochujang, and stir.
3. Add sesame oil, salt and pepper to your liking, and then remove from heat.

This is the recipe for basic kimchi fried rice. However, I like to add some kind of meat (like bulgogi or spam), seaweed, bean sprouts, green onion, and sesame seeds for extra flavor. Top it all off with a sunny side up egg and enjoy!!
